Where to Buy the Oculus Quest 2 in Australia?
Whether you live in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Canberra or Adelaide, you might be wondering where to buy the Oculus Quest in Australia.
Which stores sell the Oculus Quest?
Well, I’ve tried many stores ranging from Dick Smith to JB Hi-Fi and unfortunately, none of them sell it.
Does Australia Sell Oculus Quests?
Unfortunately not… The Quest never made it to the stores in Australia. My friend who works at JB Hi-Fi told me there were no plans for the Quest to retail in Australia any time soon.
This also goes for other high-end VR headsets including the Rift, HTC Vive and Valve Index. The only headset available in Australia is the PSVR.
Whilst it’ll be nice to just head to your local store and grab a Quest, the only way to get one in Australia is to order it online: through Amazon or the Oculus official store.
I recommend buying through the official Oculus store, as you won’t get the same support if you buy from Amazon:
The good news is that shipping is very fast and you’ll receive it within a few days which is insanely fast for overseas shipping (might be delayed due to COVID-19).
A frequently asked question is which version should I get? My answer is always go for the 64 GB version, because most games are 100MB to 1GB and there’s no way you’ll need 128 GB. The exception is if you’re planning on storing a bunch of movies or recording lots of gameplay video, then go for the 128 GB one.
Oh, and if you’re planning on ordering the Quest, make sure you check out these comfort mods. They’re a must-have in my opinion.
Tl;dr: As of August 2020, the Quest is not available in Australia. The only way to get your Quest is by ordering it online. Stock may be limited due to COVID-19.
